C&C Traditional Masonry is a local business in Nairn, run by local, qualified stonemasons Colin Taylor and Calum Macdonald.
Specialising in lime, we deliver the most effective methods of repairing and maintaining buildings, using traditional materials and techniques.
We undertake all aspects of stonework, including domestic, commercial and listed buildings.
RESTORATION / CONSERVATION
We offer a range of services including stone replacement, indenting, artificial repair, harling and lime washing.
BUILDING
All masonry building work undertaken, including new build, extensions, garden walls, dry stone walling, stone cladding, chimnies and patios.
CARVING
We undertake specialised commissions, including architectural carving, bespoke house signs and memorial stones.
LIME POINTING
Cement pointing, which has been largely used in recent years, has been found to be detrimental to stonework, causing structural damage and in some cases internal damp. We work with traditional lime mortar, which is proven to be more permeable, flexible and environmentally friendly than modern cement mixtures.
